March 1 Meeting with Immigration Presentation
March 1, 2018 @ 7:15 pm - 9:00 pm
Immigration Topics in the News (NOTE CHANGE IN USUAL TIME AND LOCATION)
Immigration has always been a contentious issue, and has recently been debated in the Senate. But what do DACA, “chain migration”, “merit-based” immigration, TPS, and “diversity visa lottery” mean? How many people do they affect? What kinds of people? What do other countries do?
The meeting will be in the Fellowship Hall of the Congregational Church, 1154 Great Plain Ave (across Linden St. from the post office). We will start the social time at 7:15 pm, and plan to start the meeting at 7:45, with limited business before the presentation. As with all regular DTC meetings, it is open to all.
The most recent draft of the presentation is here: immigration PPT 03-01-2018 final
It’s long, so you might want to view online, or if you print, try 4-6 pages per printed page.
