DESCRIPTION:The 2025 Needham Democratic Caucus will be held on Monday\, April 14\, 2025 for the purpose of electing delegates to attend the MassDems Convention on Saturday\, September 13\, at the MassMutual Center in Springfield MA. \nIf you plan to attend the caucus\, please fill in this Form to Indicate Interest (https://forms.gle/PU8acTL8knXJFQqn9). Completing this form is optional\, but it will assist us in preparing for and conducting the caucus in a more efficient manner. \nREGISTRATION TIME: The Needham Caucus will open for caucus participants beginning at 6:30 PM. Participants will continue to be admitted until 7:15 PM\, when sign in for participating in the caucus will end. Anyone signing in after 7:15 PM will be permitted to attend the caucus as a guest\, but will not be permitted to vote for delegates to the convention or to run as a candidate to be a delegate to the convention. \nELIGIBILITY FOR PARTICIPATING: to run as a delegate or to vote for delegates\, you MUST (1) be a registered or pre-registered Democrat residing in Needham as of the date of the caucus\, and (2) not have publicly opposed the nominee of the Democratic party in the last election cycle. You SHOULD intend (1) to spend the day at the convention on Sept 13\, and (2) to promptly pay the convention fee\, $75 for most\, but there are some discounts and a financial hardship waiver. This is a summary: for full details\, see the Method for Selecting Delegates. \nThe caucus is an open meeting\, so anyone not eligible to participate may still attend and observe. \nVOTER REGISTRATION STATUS: To register to vote\, to re-register as a Democrat\, or to check your registration status\, go here: https://www.sec.state.ma.us/OVR/. Jeff held many positions in the legislative and executive branch in Massachusetts government before he was jointly appointed\, in 2022\, by Gov. Baker and AG Healey to the non-partisan position of Inspector General. A long-time resident of Needham\, Jeff was a member of the Needham DTC for many years\, and is a past president of Temple Beth Shalom.  \nThe presentation is for public education of the Inspector General’s role to combat fraud\, waste\, and abuse involving public resources at the state and local level. DESCRIPTION:The Needham caucus to elect delegates to the 2021 State Convention will be June 24\, 7:00 pm\, by Zoom. Virtual doors open by 6:30 pm. You must be a registered Democrat as of June 24 to run as a delegate\, or to vote for delegates. The caucus is open to the public to attend and observe. Registration information is on the website and Facebook page listed below\, or email needhamdems@gmail.com with questions.  \nIf you want to run as a delegate\, please be committed to attending the all-day convention in Lowell (with remote option) on Saturday\, September 25\, and to paying the $75 convention fee promptly\, or submitting a short form fee waiver request in case of financial hardship. The 2021 State Convention is a Platform Convention to review and approve the proposed platform\, and amend as needed. The 2017 platform can be found at www.massdems.org. More information on the caucuses can be found at https://massdems.org/takeaction/2021-massdems-convention-caucuses-2/. \nYou cannot be a delegate if\, while registered as a Democrat\, you publicly supported and/or endorsed any candidate whose announced intention was/is to oppose a nominee of the Democratic Party\, in the current or a previous partisan election may be nominated\, elected or seated as a Delegate or Alternate.
